Yeah, minor hiatal-hernias like what my dad has are managed very easily with acid inhibitors. However like you say major hernias require immediate surgery as they can completely cut off blood supply to the stomach or prevent you swallowing completely.
Plus pretty much any doctor worth their salt would order an ultrasound at the very least with anyone presenting extreme abdominal pain. This alone would diagnose a hiatal hernia.
There is absolutely no way you go 2 years doctor to doctor without having a hernia diagnosed even if it is unrelated to the stomach paralysis

Do you feel the chances of side effects on this medication will be lower than the next best thing which is probably the female combined pill? If so do you believe it could become a viable alternative to the combined pill?
