Thank you! That's very helpful advice. I've been looking through jobs on Indeed and reading the job descriptions, along with whether they require a MS or a PhD. A surprising amount of them don't even require a college degree (the more technical kinds like maintaining a fishery).
I'm leaning away from getting my PhD because I feel that a significant part of it would require being a teacher to others (i.e. teaching courses) and I'm not sure that I'm cut out to be a good teacher. I do enjoy research however (but do I enjoy it enough to make it a career?). I'm still trying to figure all of this out.

Hey Celine! As a marine bio major, I am at the stage of deciding if I should pursue a MS or a PhD. What drove your decision to get a MS? I'm considering a MS myself, mainly because I feel like obtaining a PhD will take far too long!
