They are, basically.
It’s in Reddit, Facebook and companies like these interests to make sure the government stays well away from beginning to create regulations regards their business model - which is simply taking our data either for money or for free.
Once content aggregation sites like this are controlled by local governments, they can no longer effectively steal other people’s copyrights in order to boost their business. It’s not ideal but it’s essentially a fight between two devils for control of our Internet souls. Corporations and government- neither with OUR best interests at heart.
