I've always found remarks like this pessimistic and unhelpful. I moved away from the small town I grew up in when I was 18 because I couldn't wait to get out of there. Moving across the country and then eventually overseas made me realise all the really great, unique things about where I'm from. Now I absolutely love going back and do so at every opportunity I get, even though I live extremely far away.

Home is what you make of it.

Where did you live prior to WWII and where were you interred? Was any of your property returned to you after the war or was it all auctioned off?

Great AMA by the way! I visited an internment camp in New Denver several years ago. It was really moving.

Ugh, that's horrible. The cabins in that camp were so incredibly cramped.
