I guess part of why I was so disappointed in 1UPT was that it doesn't make sense army wise to have all your units spread out. The SoD makes sense historically and militarily.
Maybe having guerrilla type units that attack supply lines and disappear could be an answer to the SoD. Harassment has always been the bane of large armies in enemy territory. That combined with a better fog of war so that you can't be certain of your enemies numbers or unit consistency might do the trick
Personally I don't think I'll go back to Civ until they fix these issues. Or maybe if you get put back on the team. Honestly Civ 4 and Civ 3 were probably my most played, followed up by test of time

I started playing civilization at CivNet, and have played thousands of hours. I bought Civ 5 at launch and was appalled at some of the changes made and bugs and issues. Do you think that the issue with stacks of death could have been fixed a better way than by making one unit per tile?
