Not OP, but "indes" roughly means "in the moment" or "in between" with reference to sword fighting. It's that moment in between action and reaction. When someone attacks first they have "seized the vor" (won initiative) once they have acted there is that briefest of moments in time when there is nothing happening yet. That moment is the indes. There are way more educated people around who can educate you properly and probably explain it much much better. I hope that helps. 😄
