Sounds like the plot of the recent Joker movie

That surprises me. Isn't there usually the 'perfect' guy that turns out not to be so perfect, and the 'bad' boy that turns out not to be so bad?

It's his job to scare people. If you're not in good health to be scared, don't go to a haunted house. The young dude was unlucky, because he didn't know, but at least there were first responders on hand, as opposed to if he got a heart attack at home, or while jogging in the woods. Now, if the dude took it upon himself to hide in the woods or in dark corners in public, and get a kick out of scaring people shitless, that's a different matter, because these people wouldn't have consented to it. He doesn't do that.
