Yet if a Lifeguard saves someone outside of the zone they are supposed to be protected, they also get punished.

Albinism fucks with the vision cells in the eyes themselves. Beyond a transplant there's nothing you can do to fix it.
Edit: you can use vision correction devices that make the image larger though, which can help. But it's not the same as people who are short sighted. It's about making the image bigger rather than putting it into focus.

FUCK YEAH, IRIDIUM!
It also has a mega high melting point, so it is used for crucibles you melt other things in. It also has to be forged via a process called powder metallurgy, where it's ground into a powder, compressed into a shape, then heated to a bit below it's melting point. This causes, I think, sintering to occur, which is where pieces of a metal snap together more or less. Which I think is neat.
There was also the idea of heavy metal powder grenades. Grenades more or less packed with a powdered form of a heavy metal. When it detonates, the powder acts like regular shrapnel but it slows down to non-lethal speeds quite quickly, making it short range and far safer for civilians around the detonation. However, turns out powdered heavy metal is reasonably deadly when inhaled, so this idea was scrapped.
Also, also, all the iridium in the Earth's Crust comes from meteor impacts, as the Iridium that was present on the planet when it was formed pretty quickly made it's way to the core of the earth, since it's just so fuggin heavy. That's why the Cretaceous–Paleogene boundary is so interesting, it's Iridium rich, and that heavily implies a massive meteor impact that changed the whole damn world, plus killed the dinosaurs!
Also Iridium's main use in day to day life is in spark plugs.
Also also also also, Iridium is named after the Greek Goddess Iris.
