Even privates have some access to sensitive information. He may not have a TSC, but he may have a secret clearance which he would be in breach of if he revealed any information. Plus DoD does not like service members making public statements about their duties while still in uniform without proper approval, subject to MILPERSMAN 19 something. And DoN is even more strict than the other branches.

I've had briefs and seen people Court martialed for less.
