In the writing world, why is there so much more discussion on craft and rules than in any other art form?
I think contemporary literary prose tends to have a sterile tone because authors try so hard to be concise and avoid the slightest amount clutter or abstraction. What do you think?
I think a lot of contemporary literature is just too obsessed with the details, mostly concerning random objects surrounding the characters. What do you think?
