Thank you so much for Squirrel Girl. My daughter turned three and I’m so excited to get to share with her this goofy female positive superhero story. It is easily one of my favorite series. Do you have any other series or characters you’d like to write about?

Very cool! Thanks for the answer! I love the goofy side of marvel and you do such a great job of displaying that while keeping the overall essence of what makes it unique and special. Kraven showing up in (I think) the first issue is a prime example. Poking fun at that stupid lion face vest but at the same time remaining true to his character and having Doreen talk him down as a way of defeating him- that whole sequence is what got me hooked. I make a webcomic myself and often use SG as a reference for tone and storytelling because it’s so spot on with keeping humor while moving the story forward simultaneously. Do any other creators get upset with you poking fun at their creations?

Edit: Auto correct changed Kraven into Leaven.

I will! Thanks! I loved her role in the recent She-Hulk series.

Hi there! Big Laika fan here. I’m curious. Missing Link doesn’t seem to be like the other films you guys have made. Box Trolls, Kubo and especially Paranorman and Coraline have darker thematic elements and didn’t hold anything back in terms of scaring the viewer. It reminded me of old Don Bluth and Secret of NIMH kind of storytelling- where you treated the kids in the audience the same as the adults. I really appreciated that. Now, from the trailers, Missing Link seems to be lighthearted and comedic without any challenging themes. What can we expect from ML in terms of Laila’s trademark storytelling?
