Have you stood at the front of the boat and shouted "I'm king of the world" yet?

My brother passed away in 2005 - he had adrenoleukodystrophy (ALD). If you have any experience dealing with this disease or other leuko dystrophies, do you believe there will one day be a cure for this type of disease? I'd like to hope that newborn screening for these diseases will soon become common...do you think this is likely?
