"Hey, can I put these clammy ice blocks between your inner thighs?"
"Would it matter if I said no?"

Throughout most of my high school years, there was this 7-11 worker that looked EXACTLY like Elrond from Lord of the Rings. (I would otherwise say he resembled Agent Smith, but he had the long, straight hair.)
Anyway, if you went in and tried to buy a small Slurpee, he would refuse your money and tell you go on your way. Every time. When you thanked him, he would clasp his hands together and bow. The guy was awesome.
One day, though, he just stopped working there. I eventually asked his co-worker where "Elrond" went. The guy told me that Elrond had finished his PhD and got a job as a professor. Utterly blew my mind.
I miss Elrond. :'(
Edit: "D" on the end of "Elron." TIL.

Sup, Alexis, I'm a big fan of yours. I'm really glad you did this. So keep doing what you're doing. But two questions:
Is there any relationship between your username and that of moot's? You're both founders of huge (arguably rival) online communities, and I found it interesting that both of you have a username that essentially references "nothing."
Secondly, I wanted to hear your opinion on a matter like this: social media keeps changing. People transfered from Digg to reddit. People transfered from MySpace to facebook. Twitter appeared. Instagram appeared, etc.
Do you see social media as moving towards a (relatively) permanent form in which it will remain for a large part of the history of the Internet? Or are we always going to have a changing (not necessarily "evolving") relationship with social media? (I understand that additions and features will be added, but I'm talking major shifts.)

I used to volunteer with BBBS in college. The one in my area had multiple options for how you could spend time with your little, most of which cost nothing but your time. They had:
Bigs on site: Where you go to the local boys and girls club and chilled with your little there.
Bigs in schools: Where you meet up with your little at school.
Bigs in sports: Where you just meet up to play sports with him/her.
Standard: You can take your little anywhere, but you had to have a car.
The only problem with the first 3 options is that there are a ton of other kids there that desperately wanna hang with you, too, so you don't get as much one-on-one time with your little. But it's definitely still meaningful time, and incredibly worthwhile.
