My husband and I are recently married, but are having issues with emotional intimacy. He claims he has issues with expressing his feelings and finds it difficult to remember to do small things like holding hands, giving a hug or a peck on the cheek, or being affectionate in general. He claims he has always been this way, and this is why previous relationships have ended, but he was a very different man during courtship and the beginning of our relationship. We have discussed a number of approaches so far, including lowering the dosage of the antidepressant he's been on for years, but are at a loss for what to do next. We are not necessarily in a position where we can afford couples therapy, although we might be able to work it in, but would be willing to try any and all approaches you might suggest (such as books/workbooks, other resources). Thank you so much in advance, your advice would truly mean a lot to us.
Edit for rephrasing so my comment doesn't get removed again: What types of resources would you recommend for our situation?
