Because for the most part, this party isn't mindlessly pushing something they've decided beforehand. They seem to be trying to make it rather clear they're openminded to suggestions and willing to drop positions that may be untenable, rather than bullishly making up some plan to a: Abandon when it turns out it won't work or b: Do it anyway and fuck up.
