Just FYI this was not a 'good job'. You were going to be a Best Buy salesman who isn't even a Best Buy employee, which on its own would have been bad enough.

You lost a job that had about as much future as a drink server at the Orange Julius. Don't be too torn up over it.

Do you think its a wise idea to encourage people to violate their carriage contracts and then complain to the airline when they want to start in city B of an A->B->C trip, only to discover the airline put someone from standby on flight A and now their plane is full and their tickets are voided?

What your doing might seem like a neat trick, but your just going to cause people who don't understand how the business of air travel actually works enormous grief.

Even if this works, it causes delays in airline schedules, since if a passenger is getting on a point B, the plane at point A has to remain at the gate until the last second, waiting for that last passenger who's never going to arrive.

Maybe other passengers also wouldn't have arrived, but planes often are full and do leave a few moments early. Time is money and this costs time.
