It's super tight fabric, to the point of being impossible to actually squat down without extra weight. This makes it so that the elastic energy created by the suit helps push you back out of the bottom of the squat, which is the hardest part of the lift.

They have bench press shirts that do the same for that lift. You'll see the lifter come walking out with their arms stretched out in front of them like a zombie.

It reminds me of geared powerlifting. They'll say something like "1,000lb squat", without including the qualifier that it's in a suit that adds hundreds of pounds to your lift than you could do without it.
