OP is right, it's not worth the risk to memorize because if anything is incorrect, I'm going to be extra critical of the waiter who didn't write anything down.

It seems like it happened really quickly in a dark movie theater. And he said the cops were there extremely fast. I don't think anyone could have figured the situation out and acted in time. Also who would one "Take down"? The theater was dark and people were fleeing. It was probably too chaotic.
