Reminds me of Autism Speaks. Records revealed that they spend only about 4% of their budget on actually providing services / helping autistic people and their families with therapy, testing, diagnosis, and other treatments. Much more of their budget costs go to "administrative overhead" and "scientific research" [to try and develop a "prenatal test / cure to eradicate autism / autistic people"], but their marketing makes it seem like they're in it to help autistic people [when they're not].

Likewise, for years and years, until maybe the past few, they had allied themselves closely with the anti-vaxxer movement, promoting (and overlooking) the lie that "vaccines cause autism". They even had / hired Jenny McCarthy as a spokesperson for at least one of their official fundraising events in the past.

Even worse, they have been claimed by many who were previously with the charity to actively discriminate against people with autism and their families. This is by treating them as "inferior", as seen with John Elder Robison's reason for resigning from his authority position on Autism Speaks's board; and by refusing to give accomodations for employees / applicants with autistic children.

Make no mistake: Autism Speaks only cares about autism, and autistic people, from the standpoint that they are "the autistic problem" that "needs to be 'taken care of'". Sound familiar? It's near-identical views and rhetoric to how Hitler approached the "Jewish problem" leading up to, and during, WWII.

Or, "I'll see you in court."

Mormonism wasn't related to Neopets. Scientology supposedly was.

In some cases in which we file and win lawsuits against the federal government, we can recover attorney fees from the federal government. Another fellow equestrian / horseback rider who's trained since age 7 chiming in here.

I'm sorry, /u/CanuckBacon, but the plan with the horses is a really dangerous one. Everything and anything could go wrong, including serious injury, or even death. I'm speaking as someone who lost a 13-year-old friend at age 15 due to a horrific horseback riding accident, and that was during a supervised clinic / group training session.

Many people don't realize this, but horse are inherently dangerous animals, especially while riding. That's why most horseback riders or equestrians are trained from an early age onwards in the sport, so that they have a good, long "head start" in developing their horsemanship skills, knowledge, and expertise.

I'm 99.9% sure that, if you go into this as planned, you absolutely will have to "quit and go home". You're wholly unprepared for what you want to do, as well as untrained and completely unaware of everything you need to learn and know in order to succeed. If you really want to ride cross-country, start with beginner's riding lessons. Work your way up in training from there.

Or, as the saying goes, "You need to put the cart before the horse", or, more aptly, "You need to learn how to walk before you can run". To draw up a comparison in equestrian terms, you barely know how to crawl, much less walk, and yet you want to immediately run the Boston marathon...
