How would you convince someone who thinks that it isn't such a big deal that tech companies tracks / knows so much about us and don't care much about privacy?

I think one of the big reasons why the privacy situation is at the state it is today is because many people don't realize the implications and what the potential effect can be on our society. Looking at the larger picture, the first step is definitely to acknowledge the problem, which is what you are doing, so thank you. But I think that the consequences should be stated very clearly for people to want to start taking action against this ideology.
