i did dover, NJ to los angeles, CA in a little under 4 days. i was about 20 yrs younger then, and of course didn't have a giant truck, so it was easier. one of the gold memories was pulling into a tiny gas station in the middle of nowhere NM and having a kid look at my license plate and ask "are you really from new jersey?"

trucker was a job path i almost went to, i can see the allure of it. still love seeing that next bend.

actually, federal regulations regarding prostitution are fairly lax i believe, relating to only age of consent and proximity to military bases. state and local regulations are the rub.

the one near alpine village?

i almost broke my neck there and wanted to smash the face of a teenage 'life guard' who kept blowing his whistle at me because i couldn't float over the lip of a pool after i landed on my head.

thank god they had a bar. sat there the rest of the day while my friends courted the life of a paraplegic.
