Another Cuban here, it infuriates me to see leftist subs praising Venezuela and Cuba lmao

Growing up in Cuba the government and Castro supporters regularly used these arguments when there would be shortages of bread or whatever. Anything to not blame yourself I guess

Not really.
In Cuba most money literally comes from tourism and relatives in US/EU send money/supplies all the time so when I was growing up so I never really cared other than seeing how poorly kept a lot of buildings were.
Since migrating to the US, however, my relatives tell me all the time how things have gotten worse, there’s now a bread/egg shortage(if you can believe it), the sale of goods and the black market stuff in Cuba is being heavily scrutinized by Diaz-Canel so it’s making it harder to make ends meet, children either want to go to the US or EU after college because there’s nothing in Cuba, etc. I wouldn’t say my country’s situation is dire like Venezuela’s but I don’t get why Americans think the sanctions do anything. It’s our government’s incompetency that’s been fucking us over for 50+ years lmao
