My experience with RTS style games (including dota-style ones) is that the majority of things which require your quick attention are either pointed out by the game for you through alerts, or almost completely confined to the mini-map.

In FPS, tasks like noticing other players' movement with your eyes and ears is almost entirely up to you as a player--and is often even masked within the game from ambient noise and camouflage. Even in games with some form of radar, you're usually going to be able to detect an enemy on your own before it's visible via radar. So you're trying to watch some percentage of a 360 degree view, which requires user input to fully survey, versus watching the entirety of a minimap which is always available in your periphery. And that's not even touching the subject of directional sound.

+1 to flat tables for gaming. I got one used (looks like LINNMON), it's 59"x29" and does two 24" monitors with room to spare. Could do 3 if you don't mind flaps hanging out.

I also have a 35"x18" mouse mat on it very comfortably.

I bought a LACK to put the PC on to keep it off the floor. Takes a little more space, but the large desk area is worth it.

Edit: I have a VIKA AMON, which doesn't exist anymore. I'm guessing it was replaced with LINMON.

What made you decide to write this book as "Open Borders" instead of something more neutral, inquisitive, or clickbaity?

There are a lot of people I think would enjoy a scientific & philosophical look at immigration, but with the conclusion painted on the cover it feels a little presumptuous to suggest it to friends.

(P.S., I'm enjoying the book personally, but only about halfway through!)
