This is pretty unnerving because young people are really easily influenced by their media outlets. They would become even more polarized.

I agree that it’s optimistic. However, if you take a look at recent 10-Ks put out by the traditional oil companies (shell, BP, etc.) you can see they are transitioning to “energy companies” by putting up wind farms, solar panel arrays, and other forms of alternative energy. They see the writing on the wall and are moving forward.
