Were there any reports of dog deaths or illnesses, especially older dogs??

When you say "feeling" pain I assume you mean to avoid self-damage. But what about assistant devices for people with disabilities. Could they be programmed to "feel" their pain when the person is unable to communicate?? In other words could they be programmed with empathy??
