Sikh dude in the UK here. Don't fucking give in man. Don't go back home, it's no longer safe. This isn't about you anymore, it's about you bringing "shame" on the family. Until your parents (is it mostly mother or father? I'm leaning towards father) get over it, you have no future with them. Sorry I didn’t sugar coat it, but that’s how it is.

I'm sort of going through something similar at home at the moment. My sister is a few months younger than me, and she is “of marrying age” and I overheard my Dad telling my Mom that they can just take her to India and not tell her she was getting married. I immediately flipped my fucking shit at them. And the second thing I did was give her information on the Forced Marriage Unit here in the UK. I simply cannot be around all the time to protect her from this foolish nonsense, and I would never forgive myself if they did pull that crap on her and I didn't step up.

Also, you are a million times braver than me. I had a few chances of a proper decent relationships with a few female friends (all white) and I didn't do anything about it because of fear of disapproval from family (mostly my dickhead father putting pressure on my mother). I was a pussy back then.

Thanks - not enough big brothers in the world. I read too many stories where the fathers, uncles AND brothers carry out these so called "honour killings".
