My sister has this, and was diagnosed. The doctors told us that this is actually a very common genetic condition, but because the diagnosis is just a series of flexibility tests, many people don't go through the process of getting diagnosed. Many people do have ligament issues and I know that sometimes they can cause heart issues, so my whole family (because it's genetic) gets regular heart checks.
