Disclosure: have not read your books.

Question: did you really believe that surging troops would have any significant impact on our efforts in either Iraq or AFG?

If yes, do you still think that surging helped advance US policy and objectives?

Ok doc. Both McConnel and Feinstein have recently been in the news for being old. Specifically, for still being senators whilst also publicly and obviously suffering from old people issues.

In your opinion, should there be an age limit for public officials?

Is it reasonable to expect senior US leadership, civilian and military, to articulate attainable objectives in AFG? Instead of the pablum that is our general IO campaign?

I disagree with the "anything is possible" sentiment. And while I do think that AFG has the organic ability to hold itself together, that is an entirely separate question from whether or not the US, and NATO, are achieving articulated goals and objectives.

"As much as Americans might not like the type of wars waged in Afghanistan and Iraq since 9/11, they are closer to the future of war than World War II."

Looking at just one, if the objective in AFG was to prevent international terrorist organizations from using AFG as an operational base, do you think that US efforts have met that objective?

I tend towards our having wasted 12 years of time and resources that could have been better spent more effectively accomplishing that objective through other means.
