If my reading and memory are correct, the current mass-extinction going on is the 6th one, and seems to have begun as a result of human civilization even before the Industrial Revolution and before we started measurably F-ing up the climate.

In the other extinction events , the climate change was the first thing that started killing off species and causing extinctions, and the events were caused by global-scale cataclysms like a cosmic impact or a massive super-volcano erupting.

So if I roll a 20, yonder lady and I go for a roll in the hay, and if I roll a 1, we both die of dysentery?
