two off hand examples would be (1) Payday loans claiming that their business is located on N.A. lands and thus excempt from various states' predatory lending laws and (2) various (mostly pharma afaik) companies selling patents to N.A. tribes and leasing them back to avoid certain intellectual property proceedings being brought against them

I guess the bigger picture question I have is what are your thoughts on reconciling US or state laws with many N.A. tribal law, policy, autonomy, etc... Do you think the current system is sustainable and healthy? What changes would you like to see?
