Although they do favour the house if they are a continuous shuffler (Such as Shufflemaster's One2Six used I think on every main gaming floor in Australia), only in the sense that play is continuous and you pump out more hands per hour.

EDIT: "Favour the house" in the sense that it brings in money faster, not that it improves the odds of the game

I was a croupier in Australia for 12 months and from what I have read on the internet some things are vastly different in the US than in Australia.

First of all with regards to training. All casinos in Australia will train their staff in games. I am of the understanding that (at least in Vegas) staff members must organise private training for themselves?

My next question is when there are disagreements in a game. For instance if a player asks for a card in Blackjack, is dealt one, and then claims they didn't ask for a card, immediately the supervisor (or pit manager) will review the tape from a screen in the pit and settle the discrepancy. I have heard that int he US this can be up to the supervisor or pit boss' discretion?

Lastly I would like to ask about the software that is on the computers attached to each table (ours were called PitTrak). Our software looked more like Windows, where as from what I have seen Vegas software looked like something out of DOS? Is that the case?
