While I won't go into detail on anything, I will say this, pinball is going to be hitting a point of revolution, not evolution, I mean revolution. We have some really cool things in the pipeline that are going to really freshen things up.

TL:DR, yes we are not far away from some stuff to make pinball not so 1990's looking.

I AM ANSWERING THIS QUESTION AS REPRESENTING MYSELF, AND NOT MY EMPLOYER.

With that out of the way, The Wizard Of Oz game that is upcoming looks interesting. I have played it, the ruleset was barely up and running so its hard to judge how the game itself will do. I will say, competition doesn't hurt, it drives innovation, and our industry needs it.

I will not consider them a manufacturer until they have delivered games into the hands of those who ordered the game. They have given a few select operators one or two games and put a few on test locations, but until the product is shipping out actively, they are not a manufacturer in my eyes.

Thanks! Your love for the machine is what keeps us alive! Leagues exist if you want to get back into being a "Pinball Wizard"! Even if you think you might be rusty, join one! Most will have amateur rankings so that anyone can compete.

I wouldn't say a full out competition, but yes we play pinball, every day. Pinball is in its nature to be competitive when more than 1 person together, and we try to foster that some when we write the game code. Lyman Sheats, one of the programmers, will kick anyone's butt any day of the week. He is currently ranked the 19th player in the world, and watching him play is great (unless he is mopping up your high score).
