Is the whole “keeping a grenade in your pocket as a last resort to prevent capture” a propaganda thing or are you guys seriously trained to kill yourself to prevent capture?

Do you think we’ll ever see nuclear energy used to power personal devices or vehicles beyond submarines? For instance I’m still waiting to see some sort of space craft propulsion engine powered by a reactor.
