Chat GPT can answer questions in detail about books, games, songs, ETC. So it clearly was trained on a lot of copywrited or proprietary data. the image AIs can create artwork based off of copywrited material. Examples: I can have Chat GPT make a D&D 5E character which Hasbro probably would not like. Image AI's can make images based off of the works of individual artists like Elmore, Picasso, or Mobius, and specific intellectual property, such as star trek, Alien or LOTR.

What are the intellectual property, copywrite and related issues that you expect to arise?

What are your thoughts that instead of massive job loss, AI may instead cause a programming golden age with individual contributors becoming much more productive and new software, especially indie games being churned out at a breakneck pace?

Well, going back to the D&D example. Hasbro wants to sell access to D&D beyond, which has services to make campaigns and characters including character classes and races that you need to buy supplements for. It also includes searchable game rules, settings and items. If you can pretty much bypass most of this by using Chat GPT, Hasbro does not receive income from memberships or paid supplements. Do you think the corporate big wigs at Hasbro are going to be totally cool with that?

Good point, you are probably correct. Still, I think there will be some IP "drama" other than the upset artists coming down the pipe.
