Google Federal Bonding Program. As a hiring manager, once I learned about it it made taking a risk much easier for people who aren't squeaky clean. Basically the government "insures" your hirability (word?) as a way to get you in the workforce. It's not just for felons either. Young adults, people lacking extensive employment records, homeless, anyone can get bonded.
