Either one of these, ships I've been on while passing Somalia were mostly small with just 2 entrances, 1 of which connects to the steering gear room.

Bonus of the engine room: you can stop the ship from going anywhere and can cut power, plus access to potable water.

It all depends on the layout of the ship of course.
