So based on your previous threads, I bought a Miele C3 cat/dog. Love the vacuum, but I'm a little confused about setting the height for the powerhead for our carpet.

Obviously too low and it's too hard to push around, and too high and it's not touching the carpet at all. But there seem to be two settings that "work" for each of our different carpets (we have carpeted rooms with a 3/4 inch pile, and then some rugs that are lower).

Is there any more accurate way to determine the ideal height? If there are two that seem to work, is it better to pick the higher or lower one? Am I just way-overthinking this?

You could always try award any potential scholarship to someone who is a strong advocate for LGBT equality in sports. That way it's not an "LGBT ONLY" award, and it could still go to someone who is advancing YCP's goals without undermining the desire for equality.

Just something to think about.

As someone who's precinct was moved last election, with no notice to me (or anyone else that voted at the old precinct), thank you. I rolled into (what I thought was) my precinct, only to find all the lights off and the doors locked. Headed back over to where I knew another precinct was (actually closer to my house than where I was supposed to vote) and the poll workers there called the county election office. Once they found out where I was supposed to go, they even gave me directions. This really helped, as I live on a major road in a very rural area, and had no idea where the new location was. I really appreciate the effort they took to make sure I got where I needed to go.

I had to have my thyroid removed back in April because of a malignant biopsy. I was not really in a good mental state, but as soon as I got into preop and got to meet my nurses, anesthesiologist, and the rest of the crew, it had an immediate calming effect. My anesthesiologist gave me some Versed, which helped. When it was my turn, they pushed some more Versed. I remember going through the doors out of preop, and I know I was conscious for a while in the OR, but I don't remember it. I have one or two partial memories I think are from PACU, and then the next thing I know I'm waking up in my hospital room.

As someone who was terrified at the prospect of going through surgery, thanks for being awesome. All the staff I met had a calm, caring attitude, which helped put me at ease, and I was very well taken care of. I know you guys do this several times a day, and its just sort of routine, but for me it was a rather pivotal moment in an already life-changing event. Thanks.

I worked at a certain quick-service italian joint for a while in college. We went through bread sticks like crazy. They came in bags, got panned up 20 to a tray, and coated in garlic butter. Some days I would work the end of the conveyor ovens through dinner, then go and prepare the 150-200+ pans of bread sticks to replace what we used.

I would end up convered in aerosolized garlic butter from the oven, then mix in some splashes on my clothes from prep. I like the smell of the garlic butter, but everything in combination at the end of the night would smell almost exactly like skunk spray. Clothes would have to go in the washer and I'd hear straight for the shower when I got home. And some nights I could still smell it even after.
