It seems odd to make that claim when scotland has had a pretty static population since about the start of the 20th century, whereas england's has risen by about a third. Plus if you look at rates of immigration preceding brexit it was very important factor for leave voters.

Also I'm not sure there is any evidence for the empire argument, it seems more like an argument that appeals to people who like to link the english with hubris.

I'm not saying there is no difference in attitudes, I'm saying there are reasons for the differences that are more interesting than just saying scottish peopler are nicer. Anyway happy burns night.

What do you mean by much less anxious than the english, do you mean the rate of immigration is much lower and so people are less concerned about it or that scottish people are inherently less concerned about immigration?
