Hello. I am a senior in high school interested mainly in working with other's artists music through mixing and mastering their stuff. I have found it very difficult to know which concepts matter most or what all i should do to get there in my future career.
1. Do you believe that music theory knowledge is needed at all?
2. Is it even necessary to go to a university to study sound engineering or should i just intern somewhere after i graduate to learn the essential skills?
Hopefully this is pretty understood by your stand point. Any advice would be very much appreciated!
