That is the real shame of it. The keep people who need pain medication from getting it.

Exactly this. Rich people living as poor don't understand that the difference between being actually poor and being pretend-poor is that huge financial safety net that's out there if you ever need it.

Do you feel that it is the combination of the sound with knowing what it is? For instance, I hate chewing sounds. Hate. If I hear a clicking that I think is chewing I start to get that rage feeling. But if I realize it’s actually the clicking of the ceiling fan, my anger suddenly goes away! Even though it’s the exact same sound! This happens sometimes if I’m on the phone with someone I think is chewing but realize they’re tapping a pen or something. Once I know it’s not chewing, it’s better. It makes no sense.

I've always wondered this: How can anybody be a good teacher in this environment? When the kids are this far behind, maybe don't have anybody in their family who has a job or an education. Where everybody they know values something completely different than education. A house with not one book. Kids who were never read one bedtime story. And most of all just don't see the point in learning anything.
I honestly don't see how any action taken in Middleschool will have an impact. If you had all the money and all the time and all the teachers and resources in the world at your disposal, how do you think you could change things in schools like this?

There was not a collective gasp from me, because I was sitting with my 4 year old niece, who had already seen it (twice.) The second they showed him she yelled, "He seems nice but he's a BAD GUY!"
