Ridiculous. Respecting your elders is knowing not to insult them or judge for their own beliefs. They come from a much different era than us. I was raised catholic but i consider myself an athiest, and I don't go around telling religious people they're wrong.

It is so stupid to see Athiests get butthurt so damn easily when they read a post based on religious beliefs. There is no need for attacking believers OR non believers from either side of the fence. Let the person live their life how they want to. If you don't agree with a religious person's statement that wasn't directed to you (see the response to the op from a different redditor above) then either reply in a peaceful way or just move on. The guy is 90years old. You think he's going to change his beliefs? No. Let him be.
