Non-sequitur is an excellent way of describing random humor that works. I hadn't really considered it, but it makes sense that somebody finds random humor funny if the creator understands how to use contrast in concepts and ideas for comedy. Other people see only disjointed ideas and when they try to imitate it that falls flat.
