What are the requirements needed to become a Nat Geo photographer?

1) How did you start in photography? 2) why did you choose ebola to cover? 3) that's a question I've always had in mind when it comes to Nat Geo photographers, how do you guys take those candid shots of people, do you ask them or just take the shot and go?
