I don't believe the president and his aides always know what they are doing. I think communication, politics, and powerful desires often conflict amongst the different organizations, and it's a huge mess.

Why don't you shift more of the campaign email info to newsletters, and only for high priority things that everyone can easily focus on, can have campaign emails. There has to be a compromise because like the other person said, people are going to stop paying attention.
I'm not sure how you can do any of this because I know that the campaign emails you guys send out contain so much to read for each one, to actually find out what it going on. I don't think they're geared to be educational.

You should compare them having to follow the rules, compared to the police having to follow the rules. Why should you let the police off on following rules if you can't do the same? And why would you even trust the police to search your home without a legal reason?
Edit: the police operate under the law, and without it they are only another citizen.

It's the brand and contract agreements that protects OP's product.
An MIT license is probably better if you want anyone to see how useful your programming is.
