my old guitar teacher gave me a copy of a 2nd year flute book. everything's in Bb and playing stuff written for an instrument other than guitar really moves your brain around in interesting ways.

play drums. don't devote a billion years to it, but playing drums even just to grasp a passing understanding of right hand v. left hand and kick will make you a much better groove player.

also, practice with a delay pedal or looper. lock in with the tempo of the repeats and learn to count so that you nail the 1 when building loops, and just play chords. it will give you positive feedback when you lock in and very negative feedback when you fuck up.
