How many children and grandchildren do you have?

That's very interesting to me.

What did it feel like to willingly leave behind such a large part of your primary culture (language) when raising your children? What, if any, other parts of German culture did you deliberately not pass on to your children in an effort to be more American? Do you ever regret any of this or regret not teaching your children German?
