Did you grow up in Japan or another country? What are some of the cultural and social differences in Japan that could be shocking to travelers and people temporarily relocating from the US?

Thanks for the response! I find Japanese culture very intriguing and I’d love to visit or see about internships or study abroad there (I’m at University currently). Did you know Japanese before going or did you have to crash course it last minute?
