How was the river section of the trip? Any sections that caught you off guard like a rapidly approaching unknown waterfall, or is the river mapped out and prior knowledge of all the hazards?

Thanks for the reply! We floated some of the Placer river and it's amazing how cold that glaciated water is. I cant wait to get back to Alaska via motorcycle. Your adventure is truly inspiring!
