If you could bring to life any one of the genetically modified animals from the Year of the Flood series, which one would you choose?

It's getting chilly again! How are you going to prepare for your book tour circuit? Will you be wearing something puffy? :)

I find the character of Oryx intriguing. During my literature seminars in college I learned of the concept of the subaltern, whose narrative and voice (both political and literary) are most probably never heard in literature or real life, or found only in silence. Do you think Oryx is a good example of this? What inspired you to write the character of Oryx?
