That was your brother!? I remember seeing that picture years ago and wondering what the story behind it was. Time is funny.

Thank you Dr. Carroll for doing this AMA!
My question: What is your opinion of the BICEP team's decision to not revise their work regarding the discovery of B-modes in the CMB? Is this the way you think scientists should stand by their work, or should they be more willing to revise their data in the face of scrutiny they've faced the past few weeks?
By the way had the pleasure of meeting you when you came to OSU to give a public lecture on your new book. Thank you for the signing your book for me.

Ever do any studies involving the aurora borealis or its causes and outbreaks? From what I've read, there is still a lot not understood about the phenomena. I'm currently on track in my last few years of undergrad to become equipped to find some of this out.
Big fan by the way, your tweets and blogs are quoted in my life pretty consistently.

Afternoon AFI!
My question is for Davey.
Its been nine years since the first AFI song (Silver and cold) came into my life and changed my way of thinking in how I enjoyed the meaning of things within my music.
After DU, Crash Love and now Burials, as well as going as far back as Shut your mouth, there has always been a theme of (as ever so slight as it was in Crash Love) unity through darkness with your fans.
Though the message isn't necessarily that with Burials, there is still a dark theme of anger and betrayal, and for those of us who feel like they live a life like that, its really empowering.
My question is, what is that source for you that comes up in your writing so very often? Was there an event, relationship, or discovery that led you to retain such emotional negativity in your music, or does Jade just cast spells on you so you guys make great music?
Huge fan by the way, and I've had the pleasure of meeting you all once when I was 17 (almost 8 years ago now). Love the new album.
P.S. The DF misses you.
